About Me

Hi, My name is Maria Pease and I am a freelance writer. I have been writing for over ten years and have worked on a wide variety of projects that include newsletters, brochures, ad copy, articles on various subjects, search engine optimized web content, and more.

I am also the author of several books that include How to collect your small claims judgment and Writing e-books for fun and profit as well as my novel, Malicious Intent: A Sam Parker Mystery.

As well as working as a freelance copywriter, I also teach copywriting to young writers in the Temecula Valley Unified School District and hold the position as judge for a program called celebrate writing that encourages young writers to express themselves through creative writing.

I love to write, and although I love working as a freelance copywriter and teaching, I also love computers and really wanted to find a way to add to my income, using my writing skills, to create a passive income on the internet.

So, my search began. I spent hours and hours researching and reading everything I could find on a way I could build a business online and grow my income.

My goal? To make enough money that when I didn’t want to take a copywriting job I could say no without worrying about paying my bills and eating. Modest goals to say the least. But it was what I wanted.

I also wanted to share my passion about my favorite vacation spot, North Carolina and be able to head there anytime the mood hit, without having to save for my trip, like I was planning some great escape.

Then I came across a company called Sitesell.com I was intrigued right away, but as someone who doesn’t act before I’ve had time to read, research and evaluate, I took the next two weeks reading all the information that was available to me, and there was a lot of it, and I made a decision.

It was exactly what I was looking for.

I could write about anything I wanted…a niche…and build a business at the same time.

In August of 2008 I made the decision to purchase Site build it, and began my journey with SBI. I think what I loved was that along with the ability to build a website, a web business, I was not left to try to figure it out on my own. And I could write about my passion! North Carolina Travel Guide was born!

I started with one site as a “test“, to see if it was really true, that I could build a business, with all the tools SBI offered, and make money.

Well, www.north-carolina-travel-guide.com was just the beginning, but today I have that first site, still increasing in income every month, but also have two others, www.rockin-teen-parties.com as well as www.freelance-writing-success.com.

My dreams are coming true and it’s all because I took a chance on Site Build It.

Am I glad I did? You bet. Am I still writing copy? Yes, I am. But I don’t have to take any jobs I don’t want to take, and that feels fantastic! And yes, I am off to the North Carolina Mountians for a week. My future is looking pretty bright!
