Chapel Hill North Carolina
Chapel Hill North Carolina is where Small town meets great opportunity for lots to do!
Our trip to Chapel Hill, North Carolina was amazing! We decided to check out this area because we had heard that it was a
really great college town,
and it is!
Which are really big North Carolina basketball schools!
We are so glad we did, too!
I love the comfort of a small town but I also like to have things to do close by. What is so amazing about Chapel Hill North Carolina, is that it is a small town, but there is so much to do!
This town has all kinds of things going on...between the rivalry between UNC-chapel Hill and Duke basketball, to the basketball museum, in which, Michael Jordon is one of the highlighted players, to Franklin Street with it's restaurants, shops, and bookstores, to the historical buildings, and the beautiful botanical gardens, and the hiking trails, you would have trouble making me believe there is "nothing to do."
We were lucky enough to stay with friends who have a house in a neighborhood very close to the University of North Carolina. So close, in fact, that we were able to walk to the University and all over town!
All around UNC there are beautiful woods with lots of trails. As we ventured out, I was really surprised at how many people were out running or hiking.
If you love to be outside, as I do, well what can I say...it was heaven.
Even on the days it rained we went hiking everyday and loved every minute of it!
We even had a big surprise while we were vacationing there. Something we never expected to see...
We couldn't believe it! They say that as we approach springtime, things can get pretty crazy in the weather department...but snow?
Well, we saw it all. Beautiful, cool sunny days, a bit of rain, and yes, even snow!
You won't find the beautiful North Carolina beaches near Chapel Hill. But it is still one of the great vacation spots, especially if you love UNC basketball!
Chapel Hill, Durham North Carolina and Raleigh make up the three corners of the Research Triangle, so named in 1959 with the creation of Research Triangle Park, a research park between Durham and Raleigh, and is located in the southeast corner of Orange County, with Hillsborough, to the north, Carrboro to the west, and Chatham County to the south.
As I mentioned, we are looking to re-locate. Is Chapel Hill North Carolina someplace I would consider going???
