North Carolina Zoo
Located in Asheboro, the North Carolina zoo is the place to see!
North Carolina has so much to offer. From the North Carolina beaches to the North Carolina lighthouses to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, all wonderful places to see, but whatever you do, don't miss the zoo.
The Asheboro zoo is a work in progress, and continues to improve with new habitats that are made using moats and boulders and look like natural surroundings.
The most popular places to visit at the Zoo are the R.J. Reynolds aviary, which is the home of a variety of tropical plants and birds from all over the world!
The North American and African sections of the zoo have both outdoor and indoor exhibits that are very impressive. Some features of the North American section include a desert style landscape for reptiles, desert plants, and insects.
In the African section, the large park environment houses the crowd pleasing chimps.
Many of the exhibits allow the animals to roam freely. They can be seen by foot or by tram. Why not come and spend as much time as you'd like to enjoy all the wonderful animals and exhibits that it has to offer?
Looking for more from your experience at the zoo? There are all kinds of great things to do. There are some great programs for kids and if your interested in volunteering they have several opportunities to do so! It's really one of North Carolina's great vacation spots for kids and grown ups alike!
