These clusters of islands are comprised of narrow paths of sand and are connected to the mainland by ferries, private boats and man-made bridges.
Traveling to the North Carolina's Outer Banks is highly recommended, it's one of the great vacation spots. Tourist season runs from April to November, but as you may think, the most popular time to visit is during the hot summer months when you can enjoy the North Carolina Outer Banks beach house rentals and for the summer.
Of course, that is when all the restaurants, shops and the many Outer Banks attractions are in full swing!
